alright guys whats up were going to be creating a chain like node here chain link nodes allow external data to be placed in the blockchain once the place in the blockchain anyone can access that information to create their smart contracts to do things the main reason to run a chain link notice to help the decentralized chain the ecosystem deliver this external data onto the blockchain and also give alternative versions of data on the blockchain every time you do this you get rewarded with link token that other users used to buy the external data so if you build a chain link noter youre gonna be a millionaire no not necessarily there are a number of other hoops youve got to jump through like getting reviewed making sure you notice table etc etc but any case lets jump into it all right so were just gonna rip through super simple implementation of running a chain link node there are a whole bunch of additional steps and best practices other than what were gonna do here were just going to go to the TCP right here so once youve been able to trial youre gonna want to go to Im actually already here compute engine VM instances where we are now we have a project are the creative for us if you didnt create a project I need to create a project those are you dont really know what it BM is its a virtual machine were gonna create a Linux box thats gonna run pretty much all of our everything that we need to do were gonna go in and create I credit give it a name were gonna call it chain link props and primary region zone whatever when you make it backups you region will go on different series ones fine machine type youre gonna want to do two cores if youre doing a developer environment and your care you can do one thats fine Im doing boom - Im gonna do 18 point oh four were gonna do a SSD persistent disk this is gonna be faster based and quicker ten gigabytes is fine just like that great allow allow and you do allow each it could be any 50s for us to work with the GUI and we are going to create it and itll take a minute maybe a couple of minutes to actually create your virtual machine cool so now that we have our VM up the next thing that we have to do before we actually go into the tutorial is to set up our database so the next thing were gonna need to do is create a database for everything to run off of and again youre just roll down to sicko right here for a Crim instance please press if you want to use one of the other ones go for it but dont use graphs name the instance gonna call a chain link password for now some configurations that are important so we dont want a public IP we dont want anyone but us to be able to touch our database were going to do a private IP yep were gonna Nabal the API ideally in a production environment high availability youre just messing around dont bother because it costs a little bit more but if youre gonna run a serious note theres you have to so were gonna go and hit create right now this takes a little bit longer than the VM great now youll see that you have database ready to go lets jump into it theres a couple of things were gonna need from it actually were gonna need to do so lets go to users or create a user its not going to be so you start off with like a post recipes great database has a Postgres database already thats the Postgres stuff we want a chain link database for it jingling stuff so were gonna call it chain link rocks then last thing and you its youre gonna need to install the Google Cloud SDK youll see that the VirtualBox they have an SSH button for you to access a tune but youre going to need to make an SSH tunnel and I havent figured out a way for fun to do that so youre going to need to install Google cloud into you know Im on a Mac so its my terminal and so what were gonna want to do is were gonna actually SSH tunnel into this box on our local machine so you can that sensation worth of fun and terminal will pop up but you cant SSH tunnel in which we need to use the the GUI so were not gonna do that were actually going to go in here to cloud project and great its the project ID that were working on this right here its called my project perfect so now we can SSH tunnel in if this command well until you see at the bottom analysis at chain-link new drops of primary great thats the name of now that we have everything set up we can finally start we have our database we have our command line and we have our virtual machine which our command line is SSH into our virtual machine so this part great lets look at our instructions now so first thing download docker copy this watch I think this is based so were doing this for the Roxton the Robson net and again this test net and make a directory called chain-link Rob saloon go to that create environment file same thing like its a beautiful you just copy paste set your aetherium client URL since chain link runs off the ethereal platform you need to sync your chain link node up with the etherium blockchain if you run your own if youre in blockchain you know you can just use your own and its ideal that you do that because it increases the centralization of etherium which part of the whole purpose of blockchain however if youre lazy like me im currently a little bit lazy im just beach views for alchemy or a bunch of other guys and they have free trials and fuse has free trial so you can just do a free job add this URL in here you can check it out boom okay great so you see its right here set the remote database URL config youre gonna want to do this you dont want to do sequel Lite this is the connection string for youre gonna go back to sequel what I want to go back to sequel grabbing information there so the username again we made it was admin if youre not sure you just go back to use up here our password created which was the test123 server this is gonna be a private IP address right here fort gonna be the post rest port which is gonna be five four three two and then database go to the databases and like Robs then were gonna want to add this to this right now for security reasons you dont really want to have your password in plain text thats like pretty bad but just again thats the bare-bones set up so were gonna move forward perfect now we have a database and were gonna do this were gonna add this that adds it to now use that we can start running our chinoco chen the code is just the da cringe thats it so were gonna pull the newest docker image the smart contract chain link down and its gonna start doing some stuff this is gonna ask for a password Im going to call it entered API email and youll see it starts it says connecting to a theorem node great now we should be able to go to local oh six sixteen eight this wonderful doing the email and password that you just created when you ran continue you are going to enter here and were inside the note thanks so much guys for watching again all those are in the description for code and tutorials be sure to hit like and subscribe to see more and let me know what you got so probably see next but theres more chain the toriel toriel different languages open ears see you guys How to
